"NAB team stormed into the house of the Speaker breaking the gates and climbing the walls that is inhumane and against our tradition," he said, addressing a press conference on Thursday. Provincial minister Saeed Ghani and CM's adviser on Information Barrister Murtaza Wahab were also present.
Chief Minister said that NAB team has violated the privacy of women members of the family. He said Agha Siraj Khan Durrani has a privilege that he has been elected Speaker Sindh Assembly twice and his father and an uncle also served as Speakers Sindh Assembly in the past.
He regretted that even though he is chief executive of province, he could not protect the family of Agha Siraj Khan Durrani from the (NAB) attack. He said that female members of Durrani family were sent out to lawn of the house during NAB raid.
"Sindh cabinet members and senior leaders of Pakistan Peoples Party immediately rushed to the spot and tried to meet the family members but their access was denied," he said, adding that through the main gate, they saw females in the lawn and again requested NAB personnel to sent them outside but they turned down our requests.
Murad Shah further said even enemies are granted certain rights but in the case of Durrani, women of the family were misbehaved and threatened by the NAB officials.
He said they had decided to convene Sindh Assembly Session on Friday (today). He said deputy speaker Sindh Assembly Rehana Leghari exercising his prerogative issued production order of Speaker Agha Siraj Khan Durrani. He said the order was sent to NAB Karachi. He expressed hope that NAB authorities would produce him. He said that opposition parties in Sindh Assembly would also be contacted for bringing resolution against the arrest and attack on the house of Speaker and misbehavior with women family members. He said he tried to get in touch with NAB chairman but could not succeed.
He said later he was assured on a contact that NAB team would leave within five minutes but even then they took one and half hour to vacate the Durrani house.
Answering a question he said no one has right to force Agha Siraj Durrani to resign as Speaker. He said to another question that that the family would decide regarding registration of case against NAB officials for harassment. He said the NAB team had forcibly got signatures of the women on documents after threats. He said they were not scared of accountability because PPP had been held accountable since its inception in 1967.
